How the calculation works
Cost is simply power × time × rate. We convert your pump's watts to kilowatts (divide by 1,000), multiply by hours run per day to get daily kilowatt-hours (kWh), then multiply by your electricity rate.
- Daily cost = (watts ÷ 1000) × hours/day × $/kWh
- Monthly = daily × 30
- Season = monthly × the months you run the pump
